FY26 Mandatory Training

Mandatory training is defined by SECNAV Instruction 12410.25 as training mandated by executive order, Federal statute, regulation or at the direction of the Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV).    

Asterisk (*) = pending FY26 update. We will refresh this page as updates are finalized. 
 

 

NEW FY25- Waypoints has been identified as the new Learning Management System for all Appropriated Fund (APF) Civilian personnel and for Military who supervise (APF) Civilian personnel.  TWMS will no longer be used for training.  All DON Mandatory training will be completed in Waypoints from this point forward.  (New URL as of 21 Aug 2025 don.csodfed.com)

Training has officially transitioned from TWMS to Waypoints. Training self-certification will not be available - therefore it is HIGHLY recommended you get a jumpstart on your mandatory training directly in Waypoints.

Records Management in the DON: Everyone's Responsibility (00-DON-RM-EVERYONE)

This training must be completed by all DON employees between 1 Oct and 30 Sep.

Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) (00-DON-CUI)

This training must be completed by all DON employees between 1 Oct and 30 Sep.

Mandatory Annual Time and Attendance Training (00-DON-TIME)

This training must be completed by all DON employees involved in T&A through either the submission of an individual civilian time card or official certification of a civilian time card are REQUIRED to take the initial course and then a yearly refresher thereafter.  Yearly refresher needs to be completed between 1 Oct and 30 Sep.

Cyber Awareness Challenge (DOD) (Information Assurance Training) (00-DON-CYBER_DOD)

This training must be done prior to gaining access to USNA information systems; failure to annually refresh this training by 1 SEPT via the displayed link could result in the deactivation of all of your USNA IT accounts.

If you do not have a CAC, contact ITSD at 3-3500. 

It is required to report completion by uploading certificate using this Google Form

DON Harassment Training (00-DON-POSH)

This training must be completed within 90-days of onboarding; then refresher training annually thereafter.

Identifying and Safeguarding Personally Identifiable Information (PII) ( 00-DON-PII)

This course, commonly referred to as "PII Training", is initially administered by the HRO on an employee's first day before being given access to USNA information systems.  Employees shall complete this training on an annual basis thereafter.

 

No FEAR Act Training (00-NO-FEAR)

This training must be completed within 90-days of onboarding or supervisory appointment; then refresher training every other year thereafter.

Initial training upon onboarding; then refresher training annually thereafter.

DON Civilian Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Training (00-DON-SAPR)

This training must be completed within 30-days of onboarding; then refresher training annually thereafter.

*Combatting Trafficking in Persons (CTIP) General Awareness Training (00-DON-CTIP)

Initial training within first year of entry then refresher training every other year thereafter.

DAU Acquisition course may be taken as a refresher only in lieu of the CTIP general awareness course only for employees in that role. Completion certificate must be provided.

Anti-Terrorism Level 1 Awareness Training ( 00-DON-ATL1)

This training must be completed within 30-days of onboarding; then refresher training annually for the first three years of employment and triennially thereafter.

Workplace Violence Prevention (00-DON-WPV)

This training must be completed by all DON employees between 1 Oct and 30 Sep.

DON Initial and Annual Ethics Training CY 2026 (00-DON-ETHICS26)

The one-time in-person Initial Ethics Orientation is scheduled for new employees within 90-days of onboarding by the HRO and is completed in person and has its own course ID - separate from this one. Training Officer will record your attendance.

Additional/recurring ethics training may be required based on an employee's series, responsibility, or other guidance issued by General Counsel.  For instance, all confidential financial disclosure filers must complete certain annual ethics training, and public financial disclosure filers have additional requirements.  Training needs to be completed between 1 Jan and 31 Dec.
