Facilities

The Computer Science department maintains seven Linux-based computer labs in Hopper Hall. One lab is dedicated to the study of Computer Networks, using physical routers and switches, and another is dedicated to the study of Intelligent Robotics, with programmable TurtleBots. The department also uses Raspberry Pi miniature computers in several courses.
The department maintains a number of Linux servers, for network security, network management, database hosting, resource sharing, student data and web hosting.
The department also remotely operates a Cray XC-30 High Performance Computer, with over 1,200 compute cores, and locally runs a special purpose GPU server rack. Both are used in the study of computationally intensive areas like Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science.
