CS Department Mission
The Computer Science Department's primary objective is to fully support the Mission of the Naval Academy:
"To develop midshipmen morally, mentally, and physically and to imbue them with the highest ideals of duty, honor, and loyalty in order to graduate leaders who are dedicated to a career of naval service and have potential for future development in mind and character, to assume the highest responsibilities of command, citizenship, and government."
In order to accomplish this and to fully support the Naval Academy's 2030 Vision to be
"The premier leadership and educational institution for developing naval officers who will preserve peace and prevail in conflict."
The Computer Science Department has developed the following vision and mission:
Department Vision
Serve the Midshipmen at USNA and ultimately the naval service through excellence in Data Science and Computer Science research and education.
Department Mission
Provide strong, dynamic, and accredited Data Science and Computer Science programs that develop Midshipmen with the computing and data science knowledge and skills critical to the naval services in the 21st century.
