  • Patrick Caton

    '21 Stockdale Associate Fellow
    Biography

I am a professor in the mechanical engineering department, studying and teaching classes in energy conversion and design. I completed the Fellows Program to not only to try to better understand my students and their curriculum, but also because I find the subjects very interesting myself. I think teaching and leading are highly connected things. Learning about and practicing leadership in the Fellows Program and NOLS course have, I hope, made me a better teacher and parent.

  • Sheila Cullen

    Biography

Hi! My name is MUCS Sheila Cullen, and I am a Clarinetist in the United States Naval Academy Band and have been a member since 2006. I also serve as Band Operations Division Leading Chief Petty Officer, USNA Band/MIDN Music Activities Program Manager, USNA Sailor of the Quarter/Year Coordinator, and USNA MyNavy Coaching Administration. I participated in the 2021 Associate Fellows Program to increase my institutional knowledge, grow my network of colleagues, and learn how to better myself and my department through engagement with the Stockdale Center. Most importantly, this program helped me foster a heightened sense of connectedness to the USNA family and its mission, and opened many additional avenues for continued growth. Our program ended with a life-changing NOLS excursion, and I made lifetime friends with whom I still keep in touch to this day.

  • Tyler Osborne

    '21 Stockdale Associate Fellow
    Biography

My name is Tyler Osborne and I am in my 6th year now as the head coach of the Navy Squash team. I took part in the Fellows program in 2021, really as an avenue to better myself as a leader while hoping to learn and connect with those around the yard. While I was impressed for how much I learned about myself through the program, I was more amazed at the relationships I was able to develop. To this date, I'm still in close contact with those who were on the NOLS trip with me, and the support I have and continue to receive from this group really speaks to the "team around the team" mindset many at the Academy share. I for one am grateful for the opportunity and being a part of this program.
